Curriculum

GHF creates a variety of educational curriculum that for more than two decades has been implemented into classrooms in the Juneau School District and other nearby communities that include Angoon and Klukwan.  To date, GHF has created over 250 ready-to-use Tlingit language and culture curriculum units, lessons, and teacher tool kits.  Each year, more than 500 students receive educational support services from GHF.

Each school year, GHF places a minimum of nine teachers in partnering school districts who teach classes ranging from Tlingit language and culture, Northwest Coast formline design, college preparedness, and early education.

All curriculum units are created by a team of educators and experts who work together to ensure the units are grade appropriate and culturally accurate.  You can find these units on ATLAS, GHF’s online curriculum platform.

GHF curriculum is intended for use by all people, regardless of national or ethnic background.
