An event open to the community. Goldbelt Heritage Foundation and Douglas Indian Association cordially invite you to the raising of the Yanyeidí Gooch (Wolf) Totem Pole to honor the T’aakú Kwáan and the residents of “Akáx Yaa Andagán”, Douglas Indian Village who lost their homes during the 1962 fire.
Free and everyone is welcome!
We will be harvesting and preserving spruce tips for jellies and tea. We will meet at the T&H Community Building (garden area) and then use the Goldbelt Heritage vans to take families out to Eagle Beach to harvest spruce tips. We will then show families how to preserve spruce tips for future cooking projects like making jelly/jam, fruit leather, etc.
Please bring a snack to share (optional).
